Work and play

Play and Work

I've finished Pepper Pig apart from her cheeks and I can't do them at the moment because I have run out of dark pink embroidery thread.
This rag rug is for the ME Craft Group.
I've brought it away with me so I can get some of the dull beige bits done.
The group seem to have lost interest in it and I'm hoping getting the beige outline in will give them an incentive to carry on the coloured bits.
Just need to outline the edge of the rug now.

Work
I brought some blueberry bushes and raspberry canes for Shaun and Fiona. (Fiona loves fruit but Shaun is not so keen.
I wasn't sure where to plant them so decided to put them in pots in the yard for the time being.
First the yard needed tidying up
The soil that had accumulated needed riddling and putting back on the beds
Now the yard is tidy enough to put the pots on
 The blueberry bushes
 and the raspberry canes
When we were clearing this area we found lots more yard to clear
That is a job for another day.

What are you doing this week?

Kathie has asked us to get photos of what we are doing during the week
I've had trouble downloading the pictures so I couldn't post until today.

Sunday Pictures

I don't have these paintings but I thought I would show you two of the ones I would love.

This is by Julie Dunbarton a Scottish Artist

This is by Bridget Wilkinson an artist from Whitby

So far I have bought a calendar by Julie and intend to get one of Bridgets. That is all I can afford

Liquid refreshments

We left home for France on Tuesday, stopped at Ashborne overnight then caught the euro train for Calaison Wednesday. Wednesday evening we stayed in Orlean for the night and arrived at Shauns place late Thursday afternoon. I slept all day Friday and this morning and still feel tired The crafting weekend and the travelling have caught up on me.
I haven't had much time to put a great deal of thought into liquid refreshments but this is what I have found.
Cups of cuddle
The last of Rolands Hot Chocolate
 My Latte

Food

I've had a really busy week as I had a scrapbooking weekend at the end of it and had to get ready for our month in France starting on Tuesday.
The weekend was brilliant. It was lovely to meet cyber friends in the flesh and it got my scrapping mojo working again.
I had a wonderful surprise while I was there. One of the ladies was keeping up to date with the news on her mobile phone. She was reading out something about a hostage  from Libya and my ears pricked up. She said the name David Bolam and my heart sank as he is my brother in law. I thought she was going to say he had been beheaded but you can not imagine how I felt when Ally said he had been released. He has been a hostage for about 8 months and we couldn't say a word. My sister has literally been ill with worry so I can't imagine how she is now, I think they are both going to need a great deal of healing. I have no idea how they are as I haven't tried to phone knowing that they will be avoiding the press. I just have to wait until she is ready to phone me.

After that my week of food seems a bit mundane.
Secret snacks
 Naughty but Nice
Some Brownies I made
 Lunch
It was set up in the room next to our craft room so we could get our lunch easily.
The place was full of other groups
 Healthy Options?
Brownies the hotel made perhaps I could say the strawberries are the healthy option.
