One thing that never changes is the Moon and its Cycle

Mum and Dad did various things from when they left school.
Dad started out as apprentice joiner to an undertaker , then went on to run a Market Garden with his sister, from there he went on to work for the Land Settlement Association as a packing station manager for the small holders.
He then went onto work for the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries as a produce inspector when we joined the Common Market.

Mum started out as a chemists assistant in a local Chemists shop.
I have a photo somewhere but couldn't find it.
During the war she worked in a factory that made parts for planes.

She also worked part time for dad and was a market researcher for many years.
That's amazing that during the war, so many ladies did amazing things ! xxx
ReplyDeleteWonderful post! It is amazing what a lot of women did during the war. They played a very important part that a lot of people do not even know about. Love the old photo of the workers.
ReplyDeleteI love your story - it shows all the difference between your country and mine. My parents got married in 1946 and at the time no woman worked. That started only in the 1960s. Wonderful photos!
